Minister Basuki Announces Program Priorities for 2024

Jakarta, ABIM (14/2/2023) – In order to coordinate and synchronize the PUPR program in 2024 with all local governments, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) will organize a Regional Consultation (Konreg) in 2023.
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono reaffirmed President Joko Widodo’s instruction to complete construction work within the first semester of 2024.

“This indicates that our 2024 program is an extension of the multi-year contract that started this year and the previous year. Then, OPOR to benefit from the development that we have finished. Then, new initiatives can only be carried out with the President’s approval,” said Minister Basuki on Monday, February 13, at the PUPR Ministry Auditorium’s Opening of Regional Consultations of the Ministry of PUPR in 2023.
Basuki also instructed that the Regional Road Development Inpres be established this year to oversee maintenance and improvement of regional roads outside of national roadways, with implementation beginning in 2024. Furthermore, he invited local governments, particularly Bappeda and the PUPR Service, to work together to develop their programs properly and correctly.

“We want to invite local governments to inspire this so that they can really assist industrial areas, tourism areas and production areas such as rice fields, plantations, and transmigration.” He stated.

Last but not least, Basuki asked all personnel of the Ministry of PUPR and local governments to increase the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) in accordance with President Joko Widodo’s instructions (Jokowi).

“This means that it was meant for domestic products from the beginning. I want us to remain consistent in increasing the purchase of domestic products. “The directive is not intended to prioritize native products, but rather to restrict imports,” he explained.

This event was attended virtually by representatives of the Provincial Government, they are Regional Secretaries, Heads of Bappeda, and Heads of Public Works and Housing Services. Also attending offline were Middle High Leadership Officials and Primary High Leadership Officials within the Ministry of PUPR.(ABIM)
