Estimated to be completed in 2024, Minister Basuki Accompanying President Jokowi Inspected the Construction of the Ministers’ Houses at the IKN

North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, ABIM (25/2/2023) – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir, Minister of Investment/ Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia, and Nusantara Capital City Authority (IKN) Bambang Susantono reviewed the progress of the construction of the Minister’s Official House in the central core of the government area (KIPP) Capital City of Nusantara (IKN) on Thursday (23/2/2023).

According to the President, the Ministers’ houses project is targeted to complete by June 2024.

“We are here in the area of future ministers’ houses. There will be 36 houses. We hope the project can be completed by June 2024 since we have the target to hold the flag-hoisting ceremony to commemorate the anniversary of Indonesia’s independence day on August 17th, 2024, in the Capital City of Nusantara (IKN),” he said.

According to the President the construction of the Ministers’ House at the IKN currently has reached 14% physical progress. “I want to show an optimistic stance. The development of the IKN has begun. It includes infrastructure, offices, and ministries’ houses. So, if anyone has any doubt about it, the development is ongoing on the ground,” he said.

According to PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, in addition to the construction of the Ministers’ house, the Ministry of PUPR through the Directorate General of Housing is prepared to construct flats (rusun)/apartments for ASN/TNI/Polri at IKN. “The construction is targetted to begin in June 2023,” Minsiter Basuki said.

director general of housing for the PUPR Ministry, Iwan Suprijanto stated that the Minister’s House at KIPP IKN has been under construction since December 2022 in accordance with the contract.

“The construction will be carried out on around 20 hectares of land complete with furniture and will be equipped with social facilities (fasos) and public facilities (fasum). The construction will be carried out by PT Adhi Karya-Ciriajasa, KSO with a contract value of IDR 493 billion,” Iwan said.
“The budget requirement allocation is IDR 9.4 trillion which must be completed by mid-2024. Currently it is still in the budget allocation and tender preparation stages. Each tower will have around 10-12 floors each,” Iwan added.

Along with Minister Basuki, the Expert Staff of the Minister for Technology, Industry and Environment, Endra S. Atmawidjaja and Director of Special House Yusniewati were present.(ABIM)
