Minister Basuki: The Cisumdawu Toll Road Section of Cimalaka-Dawuan is Ready for the 2023 Eid Homecoming

Sumedang, West Java, Indonesia, ABIM (18/4/2023) – The Cileunyi – Sumedang – Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Toll Road Section 4 – Section 6 (Cimalaka – Dawuan) with a length of 29.3 km is ready to be operational for the 2023 Eid homecoming flow.

Previously, sections 1 – 3 of the 32.5-kilometer-long Cisumdawu toll road from Cileunyi to Cimalaka were operational in December 2022. As a result, the Cisumdawu toll road is now fully connected for 62 kilometers between the Cipularang toll road and the Cipali toll road.

“Structurally all Sections 4-6 of the Cisumdawu Toll Road have been completed. Today the focus is on tidying it up, including installing the signs,” Minister Basuki said while inspecting the Cisumdawu Toll Road, Saturday (4/15).

Minister Basuki stated that three factors impacted the smooth operation of homecoming: infrastructural readiness, traffic management, and driving behavior.

“In terms of infrastructure, I convey that the Cisumdawu Toll Road is ready to be used functionally. From Cimalaka to Dawuan two lanes will be opened free of charge for the 2023 Eid homecoming,” Minister Basuki said.

The Cisumdawu Toll Road which will be opened functional in order to support the 2023 Eid homecoming flow consists of Section 4 Cimalaka – Legok (8.2 Km), Section 5 Legok – Ujung Jaya (14.9 Km), and Section 6 Ujung Jaya – Dawuan including Junction Dawuan (6.1 Km).

To assist homecoming flows, the Ministry of PUPR and BUJT have additionally established a temporary rest place at KM 194+400 Section 4B. “Because no rest area has been built in Cisumdawu, we will use one lane as a temporary rest area.” It can hold approximately 200 automobiles and is equipped with bathroom facilities, gas stations, and mini markets,” Minister Basuki added.

Following the homecoming flow, Minister Basuki targets to have all Cisumdawu Toll Road sections built and fully functioning by early June 2023. “By the end of May or early June 2023, all 62 km Cisumdawu Toll Road sections will be operational, as well as to support the operation of Kertajati Airport,” he stated.

For the regulation of functional toll road traffic, Minister Basuki said he would fully follow the directions of the National Police Traffic Corps.

“Whether the Cisumdawu toll road will be contraflow, one way, or open and closed is determined by the National Police Traffic Corps.” “Of course, this takes into account the traffic conditions on the Cipularang toll road and the Cipali toll road, so that there is no accumulation of vehicles as a result of the addition of two lanes in Cisumdawu,” Minister Basuki stated.

Minister Basuki was accompanied by Director General of Bina Marga Hedy Rahadian, Expert Staff to the Minister for Technology, Industry, and Environment Endra S. Atmawidjaja, Director of the Toll Road Budi Harimawan Semihardjo, Secretary of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) Triono Junoasmono, Head of Central Bureau Implementation of DKI Jakarta – West Java National Road (BBPJN) Wilan Oktavian.
