Ready to Break the Angklung World Record, Ministry of PUPR Holds Independent Training

Jakarta, ABIM (26/5/2023) – In order to succeed in breaking the Guinness World of Records (GWR) for Angklung which will be held on August 5, 2023, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is participating by holding the GWR Angklung Independent Training at the Multipurpose Building of the Directorate General of Water Resources, Ministry of PUPR, Monday (5/22).

The independent training was attended by around 174 participants consisting of the Young Generation (Genmud) and Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the PUPR Ministry and guided by special trainers brought in from Saung Angklung Udjo, Bandung.

Then Minister Basuki who attended the training instruct to the participant to not to be worry to improvise.

“The progress is remarkable, it is just the first training and they did great, for the next, it is better to arrange the song. Hopefully the second and the next training, the participant can improvise better”. Minister Basuki said.

Expert Staff to the Minister of PUPR for Economics and Investment Dadang Rukmana said that the independent training, which was held for the first time internally for the Ministry of PUPR, was aimed at reviewing and evaluating previous joint training. Where the previous training was held jointly with the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform and the Ministry of Investment/BKPM.

“We hope that this training will provide many benefits, one of which is a means of increasing friendly relations, cooperation, culture and work ethic between participants,” Dadang Rukmana said.

The 2023 Angklung World Record-breaking activity was initiated by the Era Solidarity Action Organization (OASE) of the Indonesia Maju Cabinet. This organization is an association of wives of the Indonesia Maju cabinet. This is one of the efforts to support the preservation of national culture. Moreover, the angklung has received world recognition as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity from UNESCO since November 2010.

Last, Dadang Rukmana advised to all of the participants to be consistent to play the anklung with the same note until the end of training, that the harmony will be more perfect.

All participants are urged to take the sequence of activities seriously and to commit to taking part in them all the way up until the D-day of August 5, 2023. So that the PUPR Ministry can make the most optimal and perfect contribution,” Dadang Rukmana ordered.
Also attending the training were DWP Advisor to the Ministry of PUPR Kartika Basuki Hadimuljono, and Secretary to the Directorate General of Water Resources of the Ministry of PUPR Airlangga Mardjono.(ABIM)
