Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, ABIM (19/3/2021) – President Joko Jokowi Widodo Thursday (18/03/2021) inspected mass COVID-19 vaccination at GeTengan community health center in Rante Kalua sub-district, Mengkendek district, Tana Toraja regency, South Sulawesi province.
The vaccination, which has been carried out since Monday (15/03/2021), aims to give vaccination to the public, public servants, elderly group, and public transport drivers in the region. In total, there will be 17 thousand people to be vaccinated.
The President expressed hope that this mass vaccination could control the spread of COVID-19 in Tana Toraja.
“I notice that everything went smoothly. The vaccines were ready to use. The officers were also ready to carry out vaccination and we hope that the process will continue until the vaccination in this regency is completed. We hope that COVID-19 spreading rates in Tana Toraja will decrease,” he remarked.
On the same day, other 20 health clinics in Tana Toraja also conducted mass vaccination.
Joining the President during the visit were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Vice Minister of Health Dante Saksono Harbuwono, Interim Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, and Regent of Tana Toraja Theofilus Allorerung . (ABIM)
