Improving Connectivity and Logistics Flow, PUPR Ministry Starts the Construction of Patimban Toll Road

Jakarta, ABIM (12/11/2023) – Contract signing between the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) at the PUPR Ministry Office in Jakarta on Friday (11/10) signifies the commencement of construction on the Patimban Access Toll Road 1-3.

Package 1’s contract signing was conducted by PT PP Arzan Senior Vice President and PPK II West Java Provincial PJBH Working Unit Erwin Herlambang Kuncoro Putra. Package 2 was signed by PT PP Arzan and Waskita – Abipraya Joint Operation representative Fathur Rozaq. Package 3’s contract signing was conducted by PPK III West Java Provincial PJBH Working Unit Efran Kemala Hamonangan and representative of Hutama Karya – Jaya Construction Joint Operation Ari Asmoko.

The Patimban Access Toll Road, according to PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, was eagerly awaited and would confirm the port’s ability to facilitate the movement of goods to the east of Jakarta in terms of logistics.

“This toll road is very strategic, not only for logistics flows, but also for managing traffic in Jakarta to the west. Therefore, export and import goods from the east do not have to first travel west, but rather proceed directly to the east, thereby relieving congestion in Jakarta,” said Minister Basuki.

Minister Basuki instructed BUJT to expedite and elevate the quality of the Patimban Access Toll Road’s construction.

The Patimban Access Toll Road spans a distance of 37.05 km, of which the government will construct 22.94 kilometers and BUJT will construct 14.11 km. The government’s development is comprised of four construction packages: Package 1, which spans 7.69 km; Package 2, which spans 6.2 km; Package 3, which spans 5.5 km; and Package 4, which spans 3.55 km.

It is planned to construct the Patimban Access Toll Road with four two-way lanes, each measuring 3.6 meters in width. On the basis of these details, and it is anticipated that this toll road will have the capacity to accommodate one hundred thousand large vehicles daily. As a stopover and rest area for toll road users, rest areas are also intended to be constructed at two locations along this toll road: STA 21+300 in the direction of Patimban Harbor and STA 22+300 in the direction of Cipali Toll Road.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of PUPR Mohammad Zainal Fatah, Director General of Highways Hedy Rahadian, Expert Staff to the Minister for Technology, Industry and the Environment Endra S. Atmawidjaja, as well as the main directors of BUJT were present.(ABIM)
