Minister Basuki and President Jokowi Inspect the Road Reconstruction Progress in Lampung

Lampung, ABIM (29/10/2023) – “Today, I want to ensure that everything I saw 5 months ago is in progress. It’s not completely finished, but it’s close, the progress is 60-70%” President Jokowi stated in his working visit to review the progress of construction of the Simpang Randu – Seputih Surabaya road, in Rumbia District, Central Lampung, Lampung Province, Friday (10/27). Additionally, Minister PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, presidential chief of staff Moeldoko, Lampung Governor Arinal Djunaidi, and Member of Commission V DPR RI Tamanuri were in attendance in the review.

President Jokowi further stated that IDR 800.9 billion from Lampung Province’s APBN was used to fix up 17 regional roads. The government is responsible for this upgrade because of the Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads (IJD).

According to Hedy Rahadian, the Director General of Highways, the nationwide allocation designated for the management of IJD is approximately IDR 14.7 trillion. Moreover, progress is presently around 30%.

The government has undertaken the implementation of IJD in an endeavor to improve the connectivity and stability of regional roads with the national road network. “This is also an effort for equality, as we are entering sectors with a local economy, including agriculture, plantations, and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). The objective is to decrease logistics costs while, of course, promoting economic mobility.” Hedy stated.

Susan Novelia, head of the Lampung National Road Implementation Center (BPJN), stated that the PUPR Ministry manages a section of the 14-kilometer road section between Seputih Surabaya and Simpang Randu via IJD.

“At least 102.1 billion IDR have been allocated for the construction of the road section between Seputih Surabaya and Simpang Randu.”
The current level of progress stands at 61.28%.”Completion is scheduled in December,” Susan emphasized.

Atmawidjaja, Director of Road and Bridge Preservation Region I Nyoman Suaryana, and Head of the Lampung Road Implementation Agency (BPJN) Susan Novelia additionally accompanied Minister Basuki.(ABIM)
