Jakarta, ABIM (8/5/2024) – The Indonesian government will present various of side events and art and cultural exhibits at the 10th World Water Forum, held from May 18-25, 2024, in Nusa Dua, Bali. In addition to participating in the main forum, attendees can also enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Bali.
Deputy Chair of the 10th World Water Forum National Committee and Expert Staff to the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Endra S. Atmawidjaja, made this statement on Tuesday (7/5/2024) in Jakarta.
Endra stressed that the world’s largest water forum, held for the first time in Indonesia, engaged a wide range of stakeholders to ensure thorough preparation. This included not just the main forum but also surrounding events like fairs, expos, and arts and culture performance.
“Hosting the 10th World Water Forum is a privilege for Indonesia. We hope attendees not only participate in the main forum but also enjoy the unique ambiance of Bali,” he stated.
Indonesia, as the host, has organized 280 sessions for the 10th World Water Forum, including 55 side events and 10 special sessions. The event series will begin with the Balinese Water Purification Ceremony, a traditional Balinese ritual centered around the Rahina Tumpek Uye and Segara Kerthi ceremonies.
Separately, the Chair of Division V: Fair and Expo and also Minister of Tourism and Economy Creative/Head of Tourism Agency and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno announced that the ministry’s primary support will be helping delegates experience the Melukat procession. This cultural ceremony holds spiritual significance for the Balinese people and will involve the local regional government.
The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will contribute to the Indonesia Pavilion by offering tourism content through virtual reality (VR), promoting low carbon tour packages, hosting Fairs and Expos, offering Wonderful Indonesia souvenirs and goodiebags, featuring the game “Lokapala,” and exhibits and selling high-quality MSME products via planograms.
The Fair and Expo will kick off on May 20, 2024, at Nusa Dua Hall BNDCC. Event locations will be distributed across BNDCC, Baruna Disaster Shelter in Kuta, and Bali Collection in Nusa Dua. Once the 10th World Water Forum concludes, attendees will be invited on field trips to explore Bali’s beauty, including the Water Museum in Tabanan, the Jatiluwih UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lake Batur Kintamani, and Ubud Cultural Village.(ABIM)
