Attending K-Water Academy Innovative Night, Minister Basuki: Never Stop Learning Water Technology

Bali, ABIM (22/5/2024)– Minister of Public Works and Public Housings (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono attended K-Water Academy Innovative Night in Nusa Dua, Bali Senin (20/5/2024). This is a side event of the 10th World Water Forum held in Bali on 18-25 Mei 2024.

The event brings together air sector experts to discuss innovations in clean water management, featuring K-Water CEO Yun Seog-dae, ADB Managing Director Woo Jong Um, World Bank Global Director Saroj Kumar Jha, and alumni of K-Water Academy.

During the event, Minister Basuki encouraged all K-Water Academy alumni and participants to persist in their learning and self capacity-building efforts. “Building capacity is an endless journey, and I too need continuous training. That’s why I’ve implemented a rule for PUPR personnel to receive training from the K-Water Academy. Never stop learning, especially when it comes to future water technology,” Minister Basuki stated.

Minister Basuki highlighted that K-Water possesses cutting-edge technology for dam operations and maintenance. “For example, digital twin dams and artificial intelligence (AI) can be utilized to advance smart water network management,” he stated.

Minister Basuki added that, in addition to being a well-reputed water company, K-Water has assisted various countries in addressing water issues. Furthermore, K-Water operates the K-Water Academy to enhance Human Resources (HR) capacity in the water sector. Since 1997, K-Water Academy has actively provided training and education on Smart Water Management, including and operation management programs for experts in Indonesia.

“Thank you for the presence of the K-Water Academy alumni tonight. K-Water continues to be committed to developing water management with technology that will contribute to global water solutions,” said K-Water CEO Yun Seog-dae.

Minister Basuki was accompanied by a distinguished delegation including Director General of Water Resources Bob Arthur Lombogia, Director General of Public Works and Housing Infrastructure Financing Herry Trisaputra Zuna, Director General of Construction Development Rachman Arief Dienaputra, Minister’s Expert Staff for Economics and Investment Dadang Rukmana, and Minister’s Expert Staff for Technology, Industry, and Environment Endra S.
